DESCRIPTION:
APW - Ball Hamilton, "Eustis Bros, Minneapolis" rare double-signed private label, grade 999, 18S, GF OF recase, SW-LS, WE-SSD, lever escapement, 17J, GJS, bull's-eye pattern NI damascene, s#14041. The Eustis Brothers of Minneapolis were sales agents for Webb C Ball as listed in Ball advertisements from the mid to late 1890's. Ball watches with agent marked movements or dials are rare and only made for several years of early Ball Hamilton production.
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, excellent mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, scattered MFS and mild FS, fourth wheel jewel setting is a brass replacement; dial with short hairline below seconds register with tiny secondary hl branch at its outer edge, faint hl at 7 to 8, tiny surface nick to lower part of 7 numeral; fine hands, minute hand is mismatched style to the original pierced Ball hour hand; case shows medium wear, many MFS, prominent dent on lower edge, wear to brass around lower portion of body and bezel, wear to brass on pendant, well worn initials on case back; tight brass bow, crown shows substantial wear and has had grooves filed for increased grip; good glass crystal.
